Thoughts on this name?

Not 100% sure on spelling yet.

But pronounced Muh-leah with a nickname of Leah.

Suggestions on spelling?

Im falling in love with this name...I have DD's Alexis (Lexi) & Lauren, So I like that it doesnt start with an L but has an L nickname. I hope that makes sense!

This. I read Melia as "meal-ee-a" like "Amelia" without the "A" at the beginning.

Same here. I like Malia a lot and think people would be more familiar with this spelling than Melia. I think Malia just looks nicer too.

I would think it would be spelled Malia, but I'm not sure.

My cousin's daughter is Maleia (muh-lay-uh). It's Hawaiian. I think it's really pretty too.

I like the name. The only person I knew with that name spelled it Maleah, but Malia is a much prettier spelling.

I like Maleah better then Malia (The word Malia) means t-shirt when pronounced in Italian plus Maleah looks and sounds way more exotic !

DD pps on changing the spelling. The way it's spelled now makes me think of the hotel chain and want to pronounce it that way.

I'd do Malia with the NN Lia. I wouldn't change the spelling for the NN. Lia is a perfectly acceptable spelling for Lia.

Thanks ladies!! I was fully prepared for the name to be bashed on here, I am shocked at how many people like it! Malia (nickname of Lia) is now #1 on my girls name list

I get my "L" nickname without it being an L name so she wont feel left out! lol

My best friend's daughter is Meliha (something about the meaning of that spelling was prettier to them) and I love that nugget, so I think it's a beautiful name!
