Pregnant after a Loss

Pregnant after 3 losses

I have had three very early miscarriages (4-5 weeks) in the past two years and I am now 6-7 weeks pregnant.  I cannot stop worrying about every little thing.  I have pregnancy rhinitis, fatigue, acne, CRAZY weepiness, back pain, and tender breasts.  The problem is that the symptoms seem to come and go and every time my breasts stop hurting, I'm worried all over again.  I tried for an ultrasound two days ago and we saw the gestational sac and yolk sac but no fetal pole.  I have another ultrasound scheduled for next Friday but I am so stressed out and then I'm worried that I'm going to cause another miscarriage from stress.  My husband and girlfriend keep telling me to be positive but I'm having such a hard time.  I'm retesting with HPTs every morning just to see if the line is still dark and then spending all day running to the bathroom to check for spotting.  Does anyone have any suggestions to help me stop stressing?  Or words of encouragement?  Is it normal for symptoms to come and go?

Thanks so much - I'm finding it so difficult to cope right now...

Re: Pregnant after 3 losses

  • I can 100% relate as I was the same way with DS' pregnancy and this one. It gets better, but I still have days that I worry about crazy things....and I've spent time worrying that my worrying is hurting the baby, too, so I get that. My best advice would be to try to realize that it's out of your hands and to enjoy the pregnancy and the baby growing inside of you. Best of luck. I know it's rough.

  • Welcome and congrats! PgAL is a ridiculously hard journey, but we are all here for you. We've all been there before. All I can say is to take it one day at a time, and for heaven's sake, stop peeing on things! The darkness or lightness of HPT doesn't really mean anything at this point. It will only ADD to your stress.

  • Good luck!

I feel your pain. I'm a habitual Googler, so if I'm not busy at work I make myself sick looking things up. Someone should take my phone away. I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and I find comfort knowing this is the farthest I've come (2m/c) w/out any problems (I'm on Crinone for low progesterone).

  • Thanks you guys all so much for your support!  It helps knowing that there are strong women out there going through the same thing.
