Heat wave & I think the AC is not working!!!

We came home from dinner with the in laws and our house is so hot you can't breathe!!!  We have had the AC running for 4 hours since then and it doesn't seem to be getting any cooler. While we were gone the power went out for around an hour. This really sucks considering its been 100 degrees for the last two days with no end in sight!! I'm so frustrated. We have Peyton in the basement since its the coolest place in the house but this really sucks!  Not to mention the holiday coming up which means everyone will probably be out when I call in the morning!

    Yuck. I can sympathize- heat wave here and no power due to massive storm... Praying for speedy return of AC for both of us.

    you have  mine too.. all the curtains are shut, the ac hasnt stopped in days and it still gets to 88 in our bedroom.. joys of an upstairs apt. I added extra layers on the windows and that is helping keep the heat out a bit.

    I feel for you, my house doesn't have central air. We have two window units, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, but lately the living room unit can't keep up with the heat so we are all holed up in the bedroom...probably will be for the rest of the summer. no fun. :(

    Ugh I feel for you!  Ours crapped out too and there is no end in sight for this heat wave!  Someone is supposed to come fix our AC today and I pray they can because we'd have to get a whole new furnace system just to replace the AC because it's from like 1955, ha!  Fingers crossed for all of us with no air!
