Kitchen tools make the best baby toys

We are trapped inside for yet another rainy "summer" day here in Seattle, and DS is totally bored with his toys. Rumaging through the kitchen, I found spoons, spatulas's, potato mashers, tupperware, etc. and he loves it! It doesn't matter that it's not an actual toy, it's something new to figure out. This should buy me at least an hour of peace.

    Side note: once the "put everything in the mouth" stage is over, kitchen tools also make the best painting tools. Cookie cutters, whisks, potato mashers etc.

    LOL! Sometimes when I'm trying to cook dinner and DD is being especially clingy with me (this week! lol) I can usually just sit her on the kitchen floor with a pot and a spoon and she just has a ball banging them together/on the floor for a while :)

    totally hear ya - ds LOVES to play with the plastic soup ladle or slotted spoon on the kitchen floor.

    T also likes my plastic measuring spoons. They are on a ring so he can grip them well.

    If you have one of those plastic basting brushes for like a bbq or something that's a big hit in my house.
