Any1 take Ambien ?
Any1 take Ambien with this pregnancy or their last ? I'm 29 & have been on Ambien for the past 10 yrs. I completely stopped it with my 1st pregnancy & was miserable without it. I LITERALLY slept about 2-3 hrs combined every night. My OB says that it is ok to take & all of her patients that took it through preg had healthy babies. But i'm super nervous to take it, especially during the 1st tri. But since I already have an almost 2 yr old & now one on the way, I really want some sleep ! Thoughts ?

I don't personally take it but my friend was just put in the hospital for preeclampsia and they were giving it to her at night (she was 25 weeks along). I would think if they are offering it up at the hospital than it would be safe to take....and sounds like your body will be in a better position to be healthy for the baby and help them grown if you take it.

If your doctor said it's okay, I wouldn't worry about it. I googled "Ambien and Pregnancy," and the studies generally indicate that there MAY be a slightly higher risk of low birth weight and preterm deliveries, but they also acknowledge that more research needs to be done. Additionally, the study I read mentions that risks associated with not resting may be more severe than the risks associated with the drug.
