Haven't dropped...at 40 weeks!

Just got back from the doctor. Today is my due date.  He said the baby's head hasn't dropped into my pelvis.  He thinks my baby's head is too large and it might not drop.  I'm scheduled for an induction/c-section on July 5th.  I'm not very happy about this...I know I should just want they baby to be healthy and of course that is my hope. Just sad that I've been walking for hours per day and now to go post date and possible c-section.  Anyone else not dropped at 40 weeks?

    my lo's head was also not engaged until my induction at 41 weeks.. even when i was 4cm dilated during labor it was still high but came down around 8 cm .and i delivered vaginally. good luck

    My baby's head never dropped and after pushing for about an hour and a half we ended up with a c-section. His little noggin was just too big, not to mention the rest of him (he was 9 pounds 12 ounces).

    I really wanted a natural birth, but the c-section was not nearly as bad as I had thought it would be and recovery so far has gone quite well. Try not to worry, none of it will matter when your LO is safe in your arms.

    DD had not dropped when I went to my 40w appointment.  I ended up going into labor at 40w5d but she still had not dropped. After 15 hours of labor and failing to progress past 7cm (and still not dropping) I was told it was time for a c-section. 

    I will not lie - I was devastated.  I had been so adamant I wanted a vaginal delivery (they thought she was going to be 10 lbs and gave me the option to schedule a c/s).  I had walked, used a birthing ball, done prenatal exercises, you name it.   

    My fingers are crossed for you.  I hope lo drops and you go into labor before the c/s!
