Kick counts..

I went to my doc appointment was was given the kick count record keeper and a handout. So if I am understanding this correctly, I am to time how long it takes to feel 10 kicks or turns. Then handout says to do it after dinner...so how long do you wait after dinner to do this?

    I find a time where I know baby is usually active. My sheet says nothing specifically about when to do it. However, I usually do kick counts right before bed when she is very active.

    I was told to start the clock at the first kick, and time moving forward. Although my midwife has me counting for two hours - ick.

    The kick counts I'm supposed to do are totally different, but my doc did say that most babies are particularly active during the early evening.

    I'm supposed to count ten kicks or movements for an hour. But my little boy usually gets to 10 within the first 20 minutes lol so it doesn't take me a full hour of counting. Should I be finishing up the hour, or is it ok to stop counting when I get to ten?

    You can stop counting when you get to ten :) my LO does this too.

    I was given the same thing. I start about 30min to one hour after dinner. It hasn't taken more than 10 min. My LO is very active after I eat.

    I got my sheet today. My midwife said to do it when I know the baby is usually active. She wants me to kick count for the entire hour. I laughed at her. This baby is so active that it will probably be laughable how many kicks he does in that hour. We'll see I'm starting tomorrow.

    I wait for an hour after dinner.... my MW said the big deal is doing it at the same time everyday... so I do mine at 8 and 11pm just to make sure I won't miss a day like I do with everything else...

    Hrm. my OB hasn't said anything about counting kicks yet. Maybe at my next appointment? I have my first 2 wk appt this coming monday .

    The kick count scares me!  Some days baby is very active all day long, other days, not so much, a lot less but I think still gets the 10 in withing the 1-2 hour range.

    Anyone else experience this?
