Seems like alot of you are from NY/NJ area, since I have never been there; are the suburbs more like smaller towns or big cities? (My big city qualification would be around 130,000. It's about how big our biggest city is in the state. Small town would be around 2,000.)

Somewhere in the middle - Wikipedia says that my town has about 54,000 according to the 2010 census. I had no idea so I tried to look this up but this was the quickest easiest answer I could find The town I grew up in (45 minutes away, 30 minutes from the city) was slightly larger with about 64,000. But that town was very tiny so most homes were mulit-family dwellings and the houses were on top of each other with small alleyways in between. We did have a yard with an above ground pool but it was a much smaller lot than the one I live in now. I hope that makes sense.
You should totally make a trip to the East Coast at some point! The kids (once a bit older) would love it! And so would you and DH!!!
MLD thanks for sharing. I think we would enjoy a visit out to the east coast too, but I think like you said we'll have to wait awhile til the kids are older, or get someone to watch them and go just the two of us. I do have some relatives that live out there, but no one in NY or NJ.
