After Tobios post about hair it got me wondering what you curly ladies use on your hair to get it straight. I lucked out a couple years ago and found products that really work for me. Let me show you what I was able to do on an 85degree day with high humidity-
This pic is a bit older but you get the idea of what my hair looks like curly. (Don't mind my DH, he just happens to be in the pic, lol)
These are the products I use, in this order:
15 minutes with the blow dryer and this is what I get when finished with a flexible hairspray-
By the way- Tobio, what did you decide to do with your hair? Anyone else have tups or products they want to share?
Re: Tobio and other curly girls (nbr)
I not only have curly hair but I have really thick hair.
I use a Hana 1.5" professional hair straightener and paul mitchell super skinny serum. I also use a square paddle brush.

Thanks for thinking of me! I meant to update the other day after I got it done, but I forgot.
My hair isn't curly so much as a weird hybrid between wavy and straight, so I pretty much have to heat style it no matter what either to curl it or flat iron it straight. I usually straighten it, but my stylist was giving me tips this weekend on how to wear it curly, so I think I'm going to try to do that more often.
I decided not to go too short this time, but we put in more layers, so it's a lot less thick and heavy, and easier to style. It's been raining cats and dogs all week though thanks to TS Debby, so I haven't gotten a lot of chances to style it yet. I'll have to get a pic sometime soon.
As for products, I have switched around quite a bit, but I think my favorite is this stuff from Davines. I also have a big natural bristle brush I like. I hate my flat iron, so I am hoping to upgrade to a Chi or a Sedu sometime soon.
I add about a nickel-sized blob of this before blow-drying and then just flat iron the crap out of it! I don't have any great pics but my hair is pretty coarse and this works well!
My hair is between wavy and curly when it air dries. Mostly it turns into a big frizzy mess if I do nothing with it, so if I wear it wavy I put curl cream in. If I blow dry it it looks like witch hair which I then whip into submission with a flat iron. Sometimes I use product, sometimes not. It doesn't make a huge difference for my hair except in the way it feels.
Curly:
I use Tigi Cat Walk Curls Rock, and some spray
Straight:
I just use my Chi iron on it. To tame the little fly away frizzies, I spray some hairspray into my palms and then pat it over the top of my hair. If I use an oil or cream, I find that I need to wash my hair the next day. This way I can get a few days out of my straightening job.
