Throws a fit???

Our 16 week old BB will cry, squirm, scream and arch his back and pull out his pacifier when we start nap time/night time routine with him. I called the Dr and (as they always do) they think that it's gas. They recommend giving gas drops 15min before nap time/night time which we will try but I wanted to pick ya'll brains to see if you have tried anything else that worked if your kids did/do this.

This is our first LO, he is on a good eating routine (every 2.5 - 3 hours during the day) and generally sleeps 4-5 hours at night (occasionally 7 hours).

Any ideas are welcome. Any "I feel your pain" comments are welcome too :) Thanks Momma's

Re: Throws a fit???

  • Yep.  Sounds about right.  She'll still sleep at night but naps are a fight.  From what I've read, they're more aware of their surroundings now, learning that they can affect their world, and reluctant to miss anything.  They are also aware now that they are separate from you, which scares them a little.  Mine is mastering the fake cry, and when it works (I know the difference of course but I'll come in after a few minutes) she gets REALLY excited when she sees my face.

  • I think it's a downright fit to be honest. My daughter is doing the same stuff with arching the back and she's learned how to 'scream' when fussing. I just tell her NO and won't do whatever she wants until she calms. I don't remember it starting this early before.
