share your pregnancy workout/exercise routine

What is your pregnancy workout/exercise routine? I joined the gym a few months before my BFP, and just trying to get some ideas to change things up a bit.

  • I walk 1-3 miles a day with my son when it's nice out, when it's raining I do the Leslie Sansone walking dvds, and 3 times a week I do 2 10 minute prenatal pilates.

    I walk about 1 mile a day and switch between light weights/calisthenics and pre-natal yoga about 3 days a week. I do Wii Fit too - most of the stuff is pretty easy and it actually makes it fun especially for days when I am so exhausted and I don't want to feel like I am actually doing physical activity :P

  • After reading some of these other posts I feel lazy.  I just walk my dog around the block.  Depending on how hot it is and other circumstances we take different routes to make it longer or shorter.
  • I had not been able to get to the gym since my BFP until I finally started feeling good this week.  So in addition to walking my dog twice a day (probably 20 min each walk) which I had managed to do most days, I also started going back to the gym and doing elliptical and I started prenatal yoga on Netflix that someone recommended earlier this week.  Hopefully, by next week I will start to add some light weights again.

    Yeah, that's pretty much where I'm at right now. Oh, I walked around the grocery store. Go me.

  • DH and I walk 3 miles a day, and sometime jog 1.5-2. We're doing a 5K together on the 4th for fun. I want to try out some prenatal yoga so I can do something at home to relax...so that's on my list.

  •  3x a week I run for 20-30 mins but take walking breaks when I'm out of breath to the point where I couldn't talk or get cramped up

    2x a week I do a prenatal workout video (the one with Summer Sanders, and I just ordered Body by Trimester as well)

     

  • I do a cardio routine 4x a week and I try to mix it up between stationary bike, elliptical, walking on the treadmill and swimming - about 40 min of each with a 5 minute warm-up and cool down. My doctor (and my pt) really recommended swimming because it's the easiest on your joints and it will be the easiest later on. In addition to the cardio, I also do 1 day of weight/resistance training and 1 day of yoga. It sounds like a lot now that I type it out, but once you start doing it, it's really not that bad. This is probably the only reason why I have gained 3 lbs instead of 20 because my eating is HORRIBLE!

  • I walk or do yoga...I've been trying to skim my practice down with no twists or inversions, but sometimes it's hard not do poses and things that I'm used to.

  • Ugh - I just came back from the gym.  Was there for 45 minutes - where I used to do 1.5 hours.  I was determined to keep up my work outs, which I did at first.  But in week 7 and 8 there was so much nausea I couldn't.  Today I did weights, but I had no energy for cardio (and was feeling a little sick).  I did 10 minutes on the elliptical and hope it was better than nothing.  Maybe it's this damn heat too (feels like 100 today). 

     Other than that, I try to walk 2 miles a day.   I really hope to get back to a 3x/ week weights + jogging.  Eventually, I'll do prenatal yoga.

  • 4ish times a week I do the elliptical for 30 minutes plus a quick half mile on the treadmill.

     At least one weekend day my H and I go for a 1.5 to 2 mile run.

  • I do a 20 minute cardio, but I try to keep my heart rate no higher than 125. Other days I do prenatal yoga or hiking.

  • I do cross fit 5x per week and run 3-5miles 3 days per week. Also I do a long runon the weekend 7-10 miles and a bike ride on the other day do the weekend.one rest day during he week.  I am just starting my 9 th week. Hoping to keep up some of my activity asi have slowed way down already!
