OHSS- not fun

Since my 5 day embryo transfer a week ago I have had mild bloating.  Sunday the bloating got a bit worse but seemed like a side effect of the progesterone supplements that I was taking 3 times a day.  Yesterday I felt more swollen but thought it was as and bloating.  This morning I woke up looking almost 5 months pregnant.  I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome.  The doctor was really surprised because of 1) how late it came on, 2) how fast it came on, 3) because my estrogen was below 2000 when I triggered and 4) they only retrieved 18 eggs which is a good number but not such a big number that they were worried about OHSS.  I am swollen enough that I have to have fluid drained from my abdomen tomorrow while under anesthesia.  Not thrilled about this.  On top of it all we were going to be leaving tomorrow to fly home for my Grandpa's 100th birthday and family reunion.  We are going to have to delay and shorten our trip.  I am so bummed and in so much pain.  I really hope I get a BFP next Monday because then I will at least feel like it was all worth it.

    I hope you start to feel better soon. I also had ohss and it is horrible. I hope your procedure goes well tomorrow.

    I feel your pain. I was hospitalized in November for OHSS. it sucks!

    They drained 81 ounces of fluid from my abdomen yesterday.  Although my dr doesn't want to do the preg test until 18 days after the egg retrieval (today is 14 days), I took a hpt this morning and got a BFP!!!   Hopefully all of this craziness will be worth it! My dr is going to do a blood test tomorrow.

    That is great!!  Hope things go well with the blood test. 

     

    TTC#2 since December 2010. HSG and bloodwork all good. SA results not so good. Unmedicated IUI#1 6/19/2012 - BFN
