1st Trimester

11wks, 3days - wishing for symptoms!

Hi all. The last time I posted, I wrote about my first trip to the OB and my first u/s at 9 weeks and 1day. It was all very amazing but I remember telling the doctor then that the only symptoms I was having were no appetite, fatigue and sore boobs (to the touch). I am 11 wks and 3 days now and feeling "normal". I go back to OB 2 weeks from today but I am worrying so much over these disappearing symptoms. I didn't enjoy the fatigue at work but I've been more energetic through out the day, my appetite is coming back (somewhat) and I'm still losing weight. I've lost 10lbs (2more lbs since first OB visit)...

I am a worry wart (I've mentioned that before) but geez...I'd just like some confirmation that I'm still pregnant...some days I think I have a little bump but then I think I'm just bloated because later I feel my stomach looks thin again.

I keep telling myself if something were wrong my body would let me know, right?

Anyone else going through this? Maybe it's a blessing in disguise to have it so easy...?

Re: 11wks, 3days - wishing for symptoms!

  • You are getting very close to 2nd trimester, it is very normal to lose symptoms around this time.  And since you didn't really have them too bad to begin with, I would think that makes it more to be likely.

When I miscarried, I never lost my symptoms, so personally, I don't think you can go by symptoms.

I too, am not very symptomatic this pregnancy, but all my hormone levels are coming back wonderful, so I guess  I just get a break this time.  Smile  I know it is nerve wrecking, but just try and enjoy it.

  • This is very common as the first trimester comes to an end, and you're almost there!  The first and third trimesters are the hardest, most women tend to sail right through the second.  My guess is that you're so close to it that your body is already in 2nd tri mode.

Keep in mind, a miscarriage after seeing the heartbeat is very rare :)

  • The only constant symptom I have is sensitive nipples and constipation. Since I hit week 11 I haven't had really bad nausea and I wake up in the morning STARVING! I went to the dr for a check up yesterday and everything was fine :) I even heard the baby's heartbeat on doppler. Second tri is supposed to be easier and you're supposed to have more energy because the placenta is formed and doing most of the work your body used to (and that's what made you so tired) so don't freak out!

  • I am going through the EXACT same thing! I am almost 11 weeks and feel "normal". I keep on getting so anxious about whether everything is still OK in there. I a also a worry wart just like you! I have been told that once there is a heartbeat the chances of a miscarriage are 1-3%. I know it is hard but just keep faith that everything is OK. I think we should be glad our symptoms are not terrible. I know a couple people who were violently ill when they were pregnant because they would throw up so much! Good luck to you'

  • Relax!  Enjoy the fact that you aren't experiencing symptoms.  I would give anything to go back to what I was like with my first pregnancy and I didn't have any symptoms until I developed heartburn around 7 months.  This time has been horrendous, sore boobs, non-stop morning sickness, so freakin tired, headaches, back pain, heartburn, the list goes on.  It's not worth stressing over because whatever is going to happen is going to happen and there's not much you can do about it.  Just let your body do it's work and try and give it the most positive environment you can to let it do it's job!

You will be just fine. :) I keep reading that the end of the first trimester/going into the second trimester you start to lose the symptoms because your hcg levels regulate. I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow and I am wishing I had a time machine to go forward to my second trimester and be done with my morning sickness! Morning, noon, and night sickness, to be more exact. Try not to worry. It's just your homones.

  • You are all so great!! Thank you! I feel so much better. I am going to try to stop worrying and be thankful for my lucky stars of this so-far-pretty-easy pregnancy :)

    best wishes to all.

  • I've had few symptoms throughout my pregnancy so far and I never really worried about it. The women in my family have all had easy pregnancies (sister, mom, grandma) and I'm happy it's been easy! Heading into the 2nd trimester (tomorrow!) also means I shouldn't (FX) have any new symptoms.
  • I wouldn't worry since you're not having any direct signs there is a PROBLEM.  Soon enough you won't be able to not be sure you're pregnant!
