Hi y'all
Work and life has been crazy the last few days plus I'm trying to finish up things for a sprinkle I'm hosting this Saturday. I think a blood vessel is going to pop very soon.
I wanted to do the sprinkle in the theme of her nursey (I know some people hate it but when you have a less than average theme, I think it helps the person because decorating is HARD. I appreciated my Dr. Suess themed shower personally.)
She is using the bottle cap fabric from this place and her theme is Coastal.

So I'm making this oar coat hanger and trying to decide which way the hooks look better? My brain is so tired and I'm at a loss for creative ideas right now.
This way?
Or this way?
I'm also trying to decide what to write on the oar....DH already painted 4 nautical flags for me that spell out his name so I don't think I need to put his name on it. I guess I'll just write Beach and put an arrow.....
Now to finish diaper cake before work starts. I'll try to pop back soon to see if there is any input. Thanks friends
Re: Need opinion please
I vote for the second picture.
I love the second one! What to say on it:
- Life's a Beach
- Gone Sailing
- Welcome Aboard!
Very cute! I love the second one better.
eesome - cute sayings, you are so good at that type of thing!
That is what I do for a living (creative marketing). I better be good at it!
Exactly this! But I'm not really big on sayings on things.
I also vote for the second picture.
Also, how about not writing anything on the oar? Either just apply a clear lacquer or paint it to match the rest of the nursery?
What is it going to be used for? I like the first because there is more space between the hooks, so there would be more space for hanging things.
Cute idea!
Wow! Thanks for all of the compliments and input! I will have gotten away with making this for around $10 and some puffy eyes from staying up "playing".
I feel the same way about the hooks. I'm so torn. Well the good thing is the wood is super soft and if she wants them different, I'll move them and conceal the little hole.
I found something at Michael's for a buck I'm playing with right now to see if I will like it on the oar. I'll put a pic up when it's finished.
