Our VP's bday is this Sunday, and he is off fri and mon (so am I). I told coworker I would make a cake on Monday and bring it in Tuesday. I'm big on making cakes because its so much cheaper, and with a little work they taste even better.
I come into work today and she bought him a cake. lol. He was fussing over how sweet and wonderful she is.

My favorites are:
We had a Purchasing Manager who used to drop some serious stink bombs in the ladies room and then sit there in a chair reading after she did it. I was holding my breath while I went because it was so completely putrid and she was just sitting there reading & basking in the rancid stench she had bestowed us with.
The guy who is tasked with cleaning out the remaining stuff here at this plant. He is so full of BS - he embellishes everything to the point of lying. Others are on to him as well.
I used to work with this chick who was a real dumb b1tch in all kinds of ways. We worked for the local governemnt/non-profit. She was in her 40's - we did not deal with the public too terribly much in our part of the office. She showed up to work one day in a short, tight dress, hooker style fishnet stockings, high heals and a leather jacket. She hated me because I had a college degree (she had a GED). I got a promotion that leap-frogged me from being below her on the totem pole to above (not supervising each other - just position rank in the government hierarchy). She told someone in management that I always bull-dozed her in meetings and she never got to give input. I waited until we were in a meeting with several high-level people & I would sweetly ask her what she thought on a topic that I knew she wouldn't be able to give an intelligent answer about. Killed two birds with one stone - killed the idea that I was over-powering & the idea that she had more than 3 brain cells. She sent e-mails not once but twice telling people that their 'presents is required at the county commissioners meeting'. She also called a retention pond a detention pond & asked for the pacifics on things instead of the specifics. I could go on and on about the stupidity that was her & how she annoyed me.
I have only worked at one place but you all know about her. She is still crying about the site closure, while my other coworkers and I are too desensitized about the company to have any emotions towards the decision.
Were you the only one laid off?
This woman was notorious for - almost everyday around 2pm. Plus the stench floated out into the halls so even the guys had an idea about how bad it was.
Yes I am ok, thank you for asking! I was working three days, so I am happy to have that time back with Whitney. Its bittersweet because when I was off 6 months on maternity, I wanted nothing more but to be laid off and just stay home. I had been back since april of 2011, and was very much in a routine.
Its well known I despised my coworkers and their debbie downer attitudes, so I am overjoyed to not talk to them anymore. I had been there over 5 years though, so its very bittersweet.
Nice timing with the summer though, right ;-)
No severance, so I have filed for Unemployment, and I assume I will get it at a very reduced rate since I was part time. Im going to start looking for jobs now, but im sure I will be a little picky.
Whitney was never in day care, my H worked midnights so two days a week he would just stay up with her, nap when she naped, and sleep 4 hours when i got home. It was pretty hard on him. On the third day, my mom took her. So all in all, H is very happy that he will be getting more sleep! My mom is sad, but I told her she can still have Whitney once a week if she wants. It will give me a chance to do some volunteer work at the shelter like I did before I had W, or even just something simple like grocery shop by myself.
