Scheduled c-section for 37w1d... any experiences???

Hello,

I am currently scheduled for a c-section at 37w1d after I had an emergency c-section with my first pregnancy. I have a t-scar on my uterus because the doctors were unable to get my son out with my first delivery. I am a little bit nervous about the risks to the baby (since it is scheduled so early), however, I went into spontaneous labor with my DS (first pregnancy) at 37w6d. I know that I have a significant risk of having a uterine rupture if I go into labor, however, this has been such a difficult time/balancing act. Does anyone have  any positive  experiences with having a scheduled section at 37w or so? Thanks!

    We were scheduled for a c section at 37 weeks due to complications I had been having since 32 weeks ( low fluid and decels in HR) as well as breech positioning, and my water broke at 36 weeks 5 days and everything went well.  Our daughter was healthy and came home with us two days after the c section.  She didnt need any extra attention at the hospital and she was with us throughout our stay. Good luck!

    I had a scheduled c section at 37 weeks and 1 day due to complete placenta previa.  My DD was completely fine.  No breathing issues and weighed 7lbs 2oz.

    Son born at 36w4d (Emergency C/S). No problems and came home with us; he weighed 5-13 at birth.

    DD was born at 36 weeks due to complete placenta previa and other complications. She was 5lbs6ozs and came home with us two days after she was born. Good luck!

    My son was born via c-section (after failed induction) at 37w3d. He was healthy and came home from the hospital with me. He was 7lbs13oz.  He had a tiny bit of jaundice, but was under the bili lights for about 12 hours and it resolved.

    I was scheduled for a repeat c/s at 38w and ended up going into labor at 36w6d w/ my daughter.  She had a high respiratory rate at birth and went to the nicu for about 2 hours, but then they brought her to my room and she stayed w/ me the rest of the time there.  She came home w/ me 3 days later.  She did have some jaundice but I think had she been eating better (poor latch) it would have went away faster.

    I'm scheduled this go around for 37w3d.  My OB doesn't think that I will make it that far but I think she's trying to avoid me going into labor.  I also have placenta issues so she's trying to stay on top of that.  I don't have any concerns about the early c/s.  They will do an amnio 2 days prior to make sure lungs are developed.
