AND a confession...I don't know what "WCM" means.
Whole cow's milk? Every time I see it, I think "white cow's milk."
DS will only have a sip or two of cow's milk at mealtimes. I have no idea how I'm supposed to get him to drink 16-18oz daily as my pediatrician recommended.
How did you get your LO to drink cow's milk (or soy/almond milk, etc.). If you added it to LO's formula bottle/sippy, did you continue to warm it?
Re: How did you transition to WCM?
I was fortunate enough that A took right to it. We stopped formula/bottles and put him straight onto WCM/Sippy's.
Good luck!

I will wait to hear the magic solution when you do - we are struggling. My DD is on a 1/3 formula 2/3 whole milk bottle kick - she barely tolerates the WCM in the bottle, and still has to have it warm to drink (thank you daycare for making my baby addicted to warmed beverages - she didn't used to be like that). If I make it just milk, or if I attempt to give it to her cold, or if I put some or all into a sippy, she goes on an all out strike. And then she's grumpy and miserable (and hungry!).
I am not sure how extreme to make the next move - get her to take just milk from the bottle (no formula)?
Give up bottles and make her take the milk/formula combo via sippy?
Or really mean, and just give her cold milk in a sippy and she either shapes up or goes hungry ....
She drinks water great from a sippy, but nothing else - even with an entirely different sippy cup.
What to do? We have a history of osteoporosis in our family so I will be damned before I have a kid who just refuses all milk.
We've had issues. We started by mixing it in his bottles with formula (still warming to about room temp). Now (after a month) he gets 2 mixed bottles at home and 1 full bottle of WCM (cold) at daycare. He's never been bothered by the taste but has had constipation issues which is why we are still mixing. Right now he gets about 12oz WCM + 8oz formula per day.
We're phasing out the morning bottle and I'm going to try to switch that to a small sippy + snack this weekend. No plans to switch out the nighttime bottle yet but we will hopefully switch over to all WCM soon.

We started by mixing it in with his formula, an ounce at a time. Then we cut out the formula entirely. He didn't like it cold, so we warmed it a bit.
He still didn't want it from a sippy. Or from the bottle when we were still giving that. So my pedi said go ahead and try to mixing 1 ounce of choco or strawberry milk in with 7 ounces of WCM. He takes it that way. Now, he does drink it white, but slower than he does when there is flavor in it
I know that it means whole cow's milk, but my mind always says "white" also.
So far, the transition has been going fine. We started with 1/2 BM and 1/2 WCM and now it's all WCM. I do still have 30+ oz of BM in the freezer I might mix in just to use it. I still BF 3x a day (4 if he wakes overnight), but LO is drinking about 8oz out of a Nuby straw cup a day. I do not warm it. It took about 2 weeks to get him drinking that much. I offer it in place of 2 of my BF sessions, as well as throughout the day, at snacks, etc (he'll drinks 2-3oz at a time). My doctor said 18oz also, but our GI said 24oz since LO is in the 5th%ile, which seems pretty much impossible to me.
