My son is almost 6 mos old and has an undescended testicle. We took him to see Dr. Bruce Lindgren out of Children's Memorial. He couldn't feel his testicle and believes it is high up in his abdomen, hiding behind a hernia, it could have been twisted and died off or he just doesn't have one. He didn't do an ultrasound, his reasoning was because they don't always show the testicle and even if it does the testicle could move by the time of surgery making the ultrasound useless. If he can't see anything on it he can't rule out that there isn't a testicle due to experience. So he said surgery is the final decision on his part. I really liked him for the short time we saw him however several family members believe he should have done an ultrasound and isn't a very bright dr. taking our son in surgery 'blind'. I didn't find any problem with the fact he didn't want to do an ultrasound because it made sense.
Has anyone here taken their kids to him? Also if anyone else has had a child with an undescended testicle if you can let me know what your experience was like that'd be appreciated
Re: Undescended Testicle - Dr. Bruce Lindgren - Children's Memorial
I had a very hard time getting a proper diagnosis for my son at Children's (Ricketts, asthma ear tubes ) leading to speech disorders, cardiac issues a bunch of problems that could have been avoided.
Please go get a second opinon, if you have any doubts at all
We went to U of Chi and it was night and day. there is very little "come back for your refferal" if you need to go to radiology, or orthopedics or cardiology you go right then and there and they are on campus, and we recieved world class care
