Panic mode! Bump in DDs chest!

Hey ladies, while playing around with DD tonight, I felt a lump right in the middle of her chest. It is in the "V" of her ribs near the sternum and above her tummy. I'm totally panicking. Does anyone else's LO have one? What is it? I'm going to call her pedi in the morning and go in tomorrow to have it looked at, but in the meantime I'm very anxious.

My DD does not have a bump, but try not to panic. It's unlikely to be anything too concerning, but I think its a good idea to have it looked at for your peace of mind.

I found a knot in LOs rib cage at about six weeks. Turns out it was just a small cyst and it went away. Scared me to death!! I spent the whole night in a panic that it was a tumor. Hopefully, your doctor can get you in right away to ease your mind.

My daughter has a round lump right in between her rib cage... I asked the dr about it and they aren't concerned... it's most likely part of the rib cage that juts out there... That was last summer, its still there, hasn't grown, (she's 3 now) everyone I asked about it said not to be concerned... that was a very unlikely place for a "tumor" or something to grow... it's hard not to worry, but try not to. Now my new baby (3 months) has one too, only its smaller. Theres a name for the bone that kind of juts out in between the ribs... can't remember what it is... :)don't worry!

My son has had a bump in the same spot since birth. It's the end of something (his sternum maybe? I don't remember) sticking up; it'll eventually go away. It's not normal - because not many babies have it; but it's not abnormal - as in anything is wrong. Call your pedi if your worried. Good Luck
