Why can I not figure out how to shorten a quote? I have been trying since the dark ages & it never lets me shorten them. And I don't know how people only pull a little bit of a quote either.
I always get an error that I misquoted when I try to pull out just the last person to reply to. I usually just delete out all the words but leave the [name]s.

that's the error I get too. Lemme try this one mo 'gin.
There are two quote brackets at the very top of the post. The second one and everything before the last quote bracket at the bottom is what you would edit or delete if you needed to. Took me FOREVER to figure that out. And, I still can't figure out how to quote multiple people in the same post.

Smart people, please help stupid person.
So long as you leave the open & close quote tags alone (what's in the brackets), you can edit out any of the enclosing text you want.

I
quote multiple people by right clicking on the Quote link & opening
it in a new tab, then copying & pasting that quoted text back into
my main reply field.
Re: I need bump help.
well, that kind of worked LOL
I will continue to screw this up all day, as I practice this new trick. You have all been warned.
