.....think they hear their LO crying when he or she isn't? This keeps happening to DH & I to the point it affects our ability to sleep. One of us will be (trying) to sleep upstairs. The other will be with DD downstairs. The one trying to sleep will think they heard DD crying. I swear it's stuck in our heads! It's crazy!

It happens to me sometimes, but not to the point where I/DH loses sleep. Sometimes I also mistake our cat meowing for the baby. The cat has a real soft meow that sounds a lot like crying.

We have the bassinet right by my side of the bed. I will hear noises and every time I pop up my head to check on him he is as still as can be. I know he is just making noises in his sleep but if I don't check then I think "What if something is wrong or in his face and this is the one time I didn't check and something happens to him." So, up my head pops and he is laying there sweet and still as can be. I know some people move them to the other room when baby noises keep them awake but I feel like then I would be getting up to look at him in the other room. It is easier to just peek at him in the bassinet.

We goT a video monitor...it's been great, I can actually see if he is fussing instead of constantly checking when I think I hear something. Plus I can sit out on the covered porch and get some fresh air and not worry..

Yes! It happens to me a lot especially now that I have moved him to his crib in the nursery. When he's napping I think I hear him cry, go upstairs to check and he's fast asleep. This happened with my DD too. She is 5 and sometimes I still thinkI hear her when she isn't making noise.
