Extremely faint BFP....

We've struggled with my endometriosis and subsequent infertility issues (on my end) for the past 3 years - we finally came to the conclusion we had to try IVF.  We had an embryo transfer last Tuesday (June 19) with two "not great" embryos, and today I POAS and it was a VERY VERY faint BPF!!  I mean, I had to turn it into the light to see it kind of faint ... is there a possibility it's false?  I don't even want to tell my hubby yet ...

I hope it's true.  We only had enough money for this one try, and we didn't get any frozen embryos for another try.

Thoughts?

Okay, I finally figured out how to post a picture... the line is darker in real life...

  • Did you test out your trigger? I don't know the specifics, but I know that you can test positive after IVF if you test too early. When is your beta?

  • My trigger was Ovidrel, which I don't think has hcg in it (that I know of).  We had a 6-day embryo transfer.  My beta is tomorrow morning, but I took the test because I was scared of getting the blood test without having some sort of idea of what to expect!!!

  • I had my transfer on the exact same day as you.  Although I did a FET cycle.  Ovidrel is HCG.  But I definitely think you have a real positive.  HCG from the Ovidrel shot should be out of your system by this time.

  • HoustonMama, I hope you're right!  It would be awesome to have someone on this board who is exactly at the same stage as me!  Exciting!!

  • When did you take the Ovidrel shot? The trigger usually is out of your system within 10 days.

You are very lucky your beta is tomorrow.  My doctor doesn't do it until 14 days after transfer.  I got them to do it a day or so early, so my first beta will be Monday, July 2.

Keep me posted.  Sending baby vibes your way.

Houstonmama - I took the Ovidrel on the 11th of June.  My doc does the beta 14 days after retrieval, approximately.

I also used Ovidrel and my ER was 6/15 and my beta is Friday. I POAS this morning and it was a pretty clear BFP. I'm testing again tomorrow and one more time before beta Friday morning just for comfort.

I would bet this is not the trigger and it's a BFP. I hope it is for you.
