Pregnant after IF

Zofran, how do I love thee...

I have been having the worst m/s; nauseous all the time, throwing up several times a day.  Last week I started taking Unisom + B6, and that definitely helped--it cut out most of the nausea.  But I still had a serious gag reflex, and would still throw up.

Yesterday I saw my RE and he said I was borderline for needing Zofran, and not to be afraid to ask for it.  I heard him, but thought--I can do this!  Yeah, right.  After not holding anything down the rest of the day, DH said enough is enough--and I called and got the prescription.  Started feeling better 45 minutes later, and was FINALLY able to eat!  The awful acid feeling through my esophagus is gone this morning, and there's no gag reflex whatsoever!

I don't feel 100% normal; and food still tastes funny.  But I can eat and function again--hooray!

  • My sis totally prepared me for what to have on hand when I got pg. I had the unisom sleep tabs, b6 and zofran ready as soon as we got the + hpt. I have only had to take zofran 2 times, but keep it with me at all times. LOVE IT.

How often do you take unisom + b6? I take 1/2 tab at night with my prenatal that has b6 in it.

Before I went on the Zofran, I was taking 1/2 a Unisom at night with 25mg B6, and a whole Unisom in the morning (with 25mg B6).  Now that I'm taking Zofran, I take it at 5:30 am and about 2 pm, then 1/2 a Unisom and the B6 before bed.

Thanks for the warnings about constipation, ladies!  I knew it would be an issue, and have upped my fiber intake already.  But I think I'll need to take a colace tonight.
