A bit of a silly question, but is it okay to register at two places instead of one? BRU has lots of cute stuff, but there's this other place here with more selection in some areas, yet it's a smaller, not nationwide store. I don't want to seem greedy!
It's fairly common to register at more than one place. I registered at BBB and at Target, for the convenience of my guests. Keep in mind though, if the smaller store is not nationwide, it may not be well known, and your guests may not even shop there. Many people don't want to go out of their way when they can go to a local, well known store.

My cousin registered at BRU and a little local place. She got a good mix of stuff from both places at her registry. Most of our family and her DH's family are from the area so it was easy to go to either store.

I don't think I've received an invitation or hosted a shower where the MTB did not have at least 2 registry places and sometimes 3. Some people like to shop around - compare prices.
I ended up registering at 4 places BRU, BBB, Target and Walmart. I had showers in a few places and not all of the towns had those stores. BBB I just registered at for the discount and didn't actually tell anyone we were registered there.
I registered at BRU and BUrlington Coat Factory Baby Depot with my first pregnancy. People were then able to get an idea of what we wanted, and honestly, BCF is often cheaper.
I registered at 3 places - Target, Buy Buy Baby and a local store that sells cloth diapers. It's totally acceptable and helpful actually since not everyone lives near a particular store. Good luck!
Just a word of caution though to not register for too many duplicates from each store (e.g. don't register for the same bath tub at each place). That might not go over well. Granted, if the other store carries different brands, then you're probably good!

Yup. Two places is just fine.
