I wanted to intrduce myself and my lo Max! Max was born on June 6th at 31 weeks 4 days. He was a "big" preemie at 5lbs 9.8oz and 18 1/2 inches long. My water broke and I was put on bed rest hoping to make it to 34 weeks but Max had his own plan. Only 4 days later Max was born! We are on day 20 in the NICU. Max is doing really well!! I feel very blessed for that! He was only on room air for a few days. He started bottle feeding a couple of days ago. So far it has been going well! I pray it keeps up! And he's up to 6 lbs 7.4oz! But of course the NICU thing is getting old already and I'm still having trouble accepting that he came so early. I know that may sound crazy but it's so hard to believe esp because he is so big. We also lost are 13 yr old dog 2 days before my water broke so I'm still dealing with that also. All things considered I shouldn't complain but some days its easier then others.
Well, I wanted to introduce myself. I'm glad that this board exists- no one can really understand what its like to be a preemie mom unless they're going through it too. I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi and congrats on your LO!
Your story is eerly similar to my story! My water broke at 30 weeks 1 day and my daughter was born at 31 weeks 6 days. She was bigger also for her gestation at 4lbs 10 ounces - 18 1/2 inches. She spent 25 days in the NICU!
Yes, it gets old, but just remember he is in the best possible place he can be. You'll have him home soon! He sounds like a real fighter!
Congrats! I am glad to hear he is doing so well. Hope he is home with you soon.
