Trouble TTC

Finding an RE. Help.

I need to find an RE. How do I start this? I have looked at what my insurance covers and all but how do I know what their success rates are? How do I know if they are good since this is some big money we may be spending.  Any reccommendations ladies?  Im in illinois about 40 miles from chicago if you know of any.

  • As pp, I started with the SART reports (I'm in IL too - Chicago). We have a consult scheduled with FCI-River North (per recommendation of my ob/gyn, this is also where DH got his s/a completed and it's right next door to my ob/gyn. Beforehand, I did research the best RE's in IL...Dr. Kaplan is one of the best nationally. Our appt is July 19th, I'll be happy to let you know how it goes.

I would also consider AFC in Gurnee, really high success rate, but quite a drive for us.

  • Also, while lurking a few weeks back, there was a post about RE in the Chicago area and many bumpie's gave recommendations. Try to goole or search via the bump search tool

Hi I'm in Chicago as well.  Here are the links that PP was talking about.

I'm also on the search for a new RE. Our current RE (at Northwestern) doesn't seem very concerned about our infertility. Our second opinion RE (at Reproductive Medicine Institute) wanted to order $3200 in specific testing and the place was just shady as helll IMO. We're trying to find someone in the middle.

I have heard wonderful things about FCI and I would go there in a heartbeat if they were in network for us. If you are north of the city I would check out Advanced Fertility in Gurnee.  I think our next option is going to be looking into an RE at Rush.  Good luck with your search!!!
