brushing of the teeth

GAG. I thought I was going to get lucky and get to brush my teeth in peace this pregnancy. Boy was I wrong?! Guess this is a symptom I will get each time. Sadness! Anyone else have this or any other strange symptom?

I have this with this pregnancy but never had anything like it the last. It's really annoying, but it's only in the morning for me.

My only other 'strange' symptom is an aversion to leftovers that I cook. I can eat leftover pizza but if it's something I cooked myself and sat in a container over night, it makes me want to hurl. This happened last time too.

I had that with my first,,, it was horrible , and if I dared to allow my eyes to wander by way of the toilet while I was brushing my teeth I'd puke even harder...... now with this one.. my third,, I tried to clean my ears the other day and puked.. ha ha!

It's starting here for me, but it didn't bother me during my 1st pregnancy. I have a dentist appt next month and I think I'm going to hurl.

Not gagging because of brushing the teeth, but my hubby did mention that I had really bad "dragon" breath! This was AFTER I had just gotten my teeth cleaned at the dentist. lol I have no clue what could be causing it!

It honestly takes me 10 min to brush my teeth because every time I gag I stop for a minute, take a deep breath, and then go back to brushing. It is gross, but it is more nasty not brushing.

I've been brushing with DS's baby toothpaste. It is fruity and I can tolerate it much better.

When I was pregnant w/ DS, it was the toothbrush itself that made me gag. It helped me to use a baby toothbrush instead of my regular one.

I've had it with both pregnancies. It was also the last part of morning sickness to leave for me. For example, while pregnant with my son, the morning sickness eased a bit in the last week or so of the 1st Tri, but I wound up puking on the last day of the 1st Tri because if brushing my teeth and tongue.

In other news, I had a dentist appt last week and the hygienist gave me an earful about the condition of my back teeth saying the gums were a little more inflamed. When I told her abouth the gagging, etc she told me that I had about seven months left and a lot of damage could be done in that time. I was like, seriously?!

Yeah, I cancelled a dentist appointment during my last pregnancy because I just couldn't handle it. They will get over it, I'm sure I'll be fine.

I really hope this whole thing goes away with 2nd tri though! That would be lovely!

I have not had this happen during pregnancy but a lot of other women I know have, and they have said that cinnamon toothpaste has helped a lot.

Honestly, just the thought of brushing my teeth makes my mouth water in the pre-puke kind of way. I am having a really hard time with this, and forget brushing my tongue... Brushing my teeth was one of my favorite things to do, I used to love how it felt.

Oh yes... Just when I get excited that I beat morning sickness for the moment, I brush my teeth and throw up. Lovely! Lol
