What is going through your head as you watch them? I genuinely like to watch Sesame Street and enjoy it, but the other shows, not so much.
As I'm watching Sid the Science Kid right now, I'm just wondering when this sexual tension between Sid and Gabriella will be acted upon.
And as for Super Why, I just get confused: so they are small people who live in a book world, but who also get smaller and turn into superheroes (and the princess turns into...another super-y princess?) to go into books, and they have a computer, and magical letters you have to find...that's a lot of concepts going on. Who organized all of that?

Re: T.V. shows your kids watch...
Yo Gabba Gabba has to be created on an acid trip.
Mickey Mouse Club House, they are all high. C'mon, the hot dog dance?? And why is Goofy able to like a "person" but pluto is still a dog? And poor tootles is a slave to that group. He needs liberation
I don't even have to post now; this is pretty much exactly what I was going to say.
Ha, I'm just kidding! In this episode, she just kept on saying, Sid...I was thinking...long pause and they would look at each other. "Let's start a bug club!" I just kept thinking she was going to tell him she had a crush on him!
DD freaking loves Caillou. It's borderline addiction. I can't decide if Caillou is a whiny brat or a suck-up goodie goodie, either way it is annoying. The only thing that makes that show bearable for me is the cat, Gilbert. He is awesome and always messing up Caillou's stuff.
DD also loves Super Why. I agree it is... complicated. DH has also determined that Wonder Red is a skank. His evidence is that she wears short-shorts, has a husky voice, and is always all over Little Boy Blue (i.e. the episode where she stole his horn.) There was also an episode where she rhymed -ock words and declared "I love -ock words" So that really cemented it for DH.

DS hasn't really gotten into any cartoon shows yet. The things that grab his attention most tend to be animals and cars.
He loves any of the pet-related shows, like Dogs 101 and Too Cute Puppies, on Animal Planet, and he also likes Top Gear.
Super Why is our #1 show over here. It's both of our favorites!
"Why" is short for Wyatt, which is the main character's name. So each character turns into a superhero to solve the problem presented at the start of the show. They go into a classic story to get clues as to what word will solve their problem.
They collect the letters into the computer throughout the episode.
We sing & dance along with the show & DS can actually call out some of the letters when they are on screen, which is pretty cool. This is why I love this show b/c DS is actually learning letters from watching.
He watches Sid, Cat in the Hat, Curious George, Sesame & Thomas, too.
He doesn't like Bob the Builder, Dinosaur Train, or Angelina Ballerina, lol.
I have never even heard of half these shows you are talking about! K loves Mickey Mouse, seriously she will freak out if she gets up in the morning and its not on. We mostly watch the Disney channel and a few movies.
Anywho my favorite kid show is Good Luck Charlie and Phineas and Ferb
Dx MTHFR (C677T & A1298C, Compound Heterozygous)
We watch Sesame Street, Bubble Guppies, Kung Fu Panda, Penguins of Madagascar. She watches MM Clubhouse @ Grandma & Grandpa's house because I think it's annoying. lol
I swear my kid has a crush on Elmo.
I think Bubble Guppies is on Nick? L loves Octonauts, too. Only because DH watched it once and liked it; he decided she should like it too lol. When I ask her what she wants to watch, her answer is one of three things: "Nauts! Minnie! or Street!"
When DH watches him, he watches Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Octonauts, Doc McStuffins and Jake and the Never Land Pirates (though a lot of the time he is too busy playing to fully pay attention, so it just becomes background noise).
When I watch him, its more of PBS stuff... Sesame Street (which he's showing more interest in watching all the way through now that we've returned from Sesame Place), Super Why!, Dinosaur Train and Wild Kratts.
Jack LOVES Top Gear. He watches it with DH on Saturday mornings and then for the rest of the days he points at the TV and requests "Cars!"
The only other TV show he really enjoys is Curious George, which we watch on Netflix. He grabs the bluray remote and makes monkey noises when he wants to watch it.
He turns into a zombie if I turn Yo Gabba Gabba on so I only use that when I need to clip his nails. lol
We don't have cable (only get about 10 or so main network/local channels), so the TV is rarely on in our house - especially is DS is awake.
So DS doesn't have any cartoons/shows that he watches. We are really trying to limit his TV exposure as much as possible.
Since we don't have cable DH and I were talking about how once we do start letting DS watch a bit of TV we should just get DVDs of all our old favorite cartoons from the 80's and only let him watch those. That way it won't be so annoying for us - haha! (think Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, etc.)
This is DS too...though we do have cable. He just doesn't watch tv. While he wouldn't be able to recognize any characters from children's shows, this isn't to say that he can't name a few NFL players from "watching" football with mommy & daddy! LOL!
OMG! I totally agree about Dirt Girl World. It is crazy freaky.
Thankfully, we don't have cable. I have no idea what half these shows you guys are talking about are!
We do have Netflix. My kid has no interest in Sesame at all, but LOVES Yo Gabba Gabba. I agree with pp that whoever made it was on drugs of some sort. It's horrible. However, it will keep his attention the entire time I'm in the shower, so I gave up on my no TV until you're three rule to get a quiet shower! That stupid show is a godsend. We also love YouTube - if you want your kid to not blink for a few minutes (say during breathing treatments!) - then look up KidsTV123 and Will I am Sesame. Awesome.
