So, it has recently occurred to me that since my RCS is at 7am next Thursday, and I will still be all tied up in bed with a catheter in when our visitors begin arriving around 12pm that I could potentially poop while someone is there and NOT EVEN KNOW IT.
When I was in labor with my first LO, I *unfortunately* had a couple accidents when I had an epidural. Well, since I was laboring at night, it wasn't a big deal; the nurses cleaned me up, and we didn't have any visitors until the next day when I could walk again and didn't have a catheter in.
SOOO, I don't know if this is a question, or just an embarrassing realization, but...seriously, what the heck will I do if I poop while we have guests at the hospital????????? =(
Re: Spinal + pooping. I'm serious.
I have had 2 c/s, one was emergency and the other was a scheduled RCS.
I have never pooped after those c/s while on the catheter. In fact, I had to take colace to help me poop 2-3 days AFTER the c/s.
I think it's possible you had a couple accidents because you labored before a c/s with your first. This time, being a scheduled RCS, and being told not to eat after midnight (or whatever time they say), you'll likely not have this problem.
If you do poop while you have guests, ask them to step out and call a nurse. But again, I really don't think you'll have this issue.

Thank you for all the responses, Ladies!!
I am SO MUCH more nervous for this RCS than I was about going into labor with my first... =( I'm SOOO NERVOUS...every little thing keeps popping into my head as something to freak out about! But, alas, now I feel much better about NOT pooping myself. And. Now that you all mention it, I do remember having to take lots and lots of colace after my first one.
Thanks again!
Aw. I had a vaginal delivery with DS, and c-section for DD because she was breech. I was also really scared about the c/s. The surgery was not fun, but that's partly because I didn't tolerate the epidural well. Anyway, just wanted to tell you that recovery has been much easier than I was fearing. Good luck!
