...BFN. Not a surprise.
I feel so numb to all of this. The doctor at the ET said "statistically you guys should be next". I still don't get where these doctors pull this stuff, because there is no way of knowing when the stars will align or if we'll have the momentum to even hit that point.
Our WTF will be sometime next month, although I already know they will say things look great and to keep trying.
I'm growing more and more comfortable with nixing this baby thing and getting on with life. Cycling makes me feel down and out, not hopeful like it should.

Oh Mitzi! I am so sorry. I know what you mean about not having hope while cycling. It is so hard to see the ladies on IF be excited etc because they think their cycle will work... I've never known what that felt like. I hate this for all of us.

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

Oh Sweetie - I am so sorry. I am sorry is just bullshit words that can't fix anything - although if it could I would say it a million times over for you and it would be from my heart. I do agree with your comment about "statistically" - If that were true then everyone would just keep going until their magic turn popped up.
I know you feel like you are ready to move one and put this baby making journey to bed. At least wait a while - your heart may lead you back to trying or you may just really be OK with moving on. Either way, it is a big step and I wish you peace, love and happiness.

I am/was in the same place. Now I find myself so happy and excited about adoption... while we are still trying a last cycle or two. TTC seems like just a stupid hassle right now, while the adoption talk and paperwork is awesome. Kind of like when we first started TTC and it was exciting and sweet and just between us.

Thanks, everyone. As much as I've tried to stay busy for these past few weeks and to ignore the ever present IF we're certainly in the thick of it. The doctors here all seem to lack an emotional sensitivity, which really doesn't help anything. It's like they imply we're doing this for fun or just because we're young that it will work.
We have a trip to the south of France coming up (hello, delicious food and sun!), and hopefully we can regroup and consider what's next.
There's one fresh cycle if we decide to go for it (in September) and we're also thinking about drastic things, like having a gestational surrogate, although there are no guarantees with that either. Unfortunately for us adoption at this point would involve 3 countries, which is a bit of a bureaucratic nightmare, especially since we're not sure where we'll be living. This is definitely complicated and I'm ready to not have IF be the center of everything.
