i went to the doctors yesterday for a checkup at 18weeks and all the books i read they say the doctor will take a urine sample to check for sugar in your urine.
I pee in a cup at every appointment. They do a dip stick for glucose, protein, and bacteria. If bacteria is positive they do a culture. If I don't hear anything I know all is ok.
With my OB with DS I gave a sample every time I went in. This time around I only have done it a couple of times, which I like more actually. I hated having to drive to the Dr's having to pee

Some do it every appointment from the beginning. Normal.
Some do it every appoitment starting later. Normal.
My doc starts at 24ish weeks or so. I get a cup at every appointment & bring my sample with me. It's currently sitting in my bathroom waiting for the first appointment I need it.

My doctor hasnt done this yet. is this normal?
have you gotten your urine checked?
I'm the odd ball out here. I just went in for my appt at 21 weeks and I've only had to product a urine sample at my first appt. We are military so maybe that's why we are different but they said that the DoD determined that there was no need to test at every appt.

Not the only odd ball! I've only given one or two as well. (posted above ^^)
I went in ready to give a sample on my first appointment and they informed me that they had just changed the policy a month or so before and no longer required a sample every time. Only if I was experiencing any pain or problems. I am at 21 weeks now and have only given a urine sample once when I went to have my initial blood work done.

I go to a military doctor too and haven't had any urine samples other than the first appointment. The same happened during my first pregnancy. I NEVER had a urine sample the entire time, not even at the end of pregnancy. I was bothered by it but since my BP was fine and I passed the glucose test, unless I was having UTI symptoms, I guess there was no reason to get a urine sample. (I know UTI's can be symptomless but I read most labs don't test for UTI's automatically).
Re: question about urine sample
Same here.
