We also had our 18 month appointment today.
Alexander is 31 inches tall and 20 pounds, 8 ounces. So he is off the chart... underneath it.
He is still growing along his own little curve. My mom was at the appointment with me and she remembered how much I weighed at a year and at 2 years (I was 17 lbs at a year and 22 at 2 years). So the doctor charted me and said that I was actually below Alexander! And I ended up being a somewhat normal human being, haha. So he said he would like to see him heavier, but since everything else developmentally is either on time or ahead of schedule, he is not concerned and I won't have to bring him in until he is 2 ![]()

Re: s/o off the charts...
Awe, what a little peanut! He even beat N on stats. N was 31 in 23 lbs, so close!
Paige was 31 in tall and 20lb 14oz. So pretty close. They are just peanuts growing on their own curve.
Reese's 18m stats -- 32 1/4 inches tall (70%). 26lbs 13oz (94%) head 19 1/2 (99th%)
She is definitely NOT a peanut!!!
Yes, but for some reason the boys curve is set higher
So it's totally unfair! I guess boys are just normally bigger? It doesn't seem like it should be that way for babies! I think he would be on the girl chart, however low.
Ditto this! :-)
This. Except G is 34" and 28 lbs. I can barely carry him. So at least you got that going for you.
Ditto with the G man.
Your doc is probably using the old CDC growth chart. There is a more recent chart that they now recommend to use for infants 0-24 months, based on a broader sample of kids. Here's the link to the recommendation if you're interested. I like this table better than the chart on the CDC page, but you have to convert lbs to kgs to use it.
20lbs 8oz is about 9.3 kg, which puts him just above the 5th percentile.
BFP #2 5/27/12. EDD 2/1/13. m/c and D&C 6/21/12.
Evie is tall and skinny too. 32 1/2 inches tall and 20 lbs, 9 oz.
