Hey...LONG time no posting. I have a question about separation anxiety.
I'm a SAHM and DS has been very clingy lately. He absolutely has to be attached to my hip, legs, or lap at all times...but only when we are around the house. When we go places where it would be convenient for him to be attached, he would rather go explore. I figure he is bored around the house but a new environment is stimulating enough that he forgets about me. Also, he has no stranger anxiety at all-he will go to anyone and everyone without thinking twice.
Anyone else? I always assumed he would be more clingy in an unfamiliar setting than he would be at home but is not the case.
Re: SA only when we're around the house?
just a phase, mine were like that. They had to be hugging and holding my legs at all times.
They are much better now...but if I walk to another room for a split second to grab something....they are immediately running after me. However, now....they can play and keep themselves occupied (so long as I'm within view)
My son is the same way right now. While we're at home, I must be right with him...and usually he's all over my lap or dangling from my legs. When we're out and about he seems to be totally distracted and happy to be wandering around without me.
I think it's a phase- one that will hopefully pass soon.
