I always call DH on my way home from work. Before L came along, if DH said "I have a surprise for you" it meant he cleaned, we were going out for dinner or a date night, or he bought flowers.
Today he got all excited and told me that he had a surprise. I got home and DH and L were upstairs. I went up, expecting DH to be changing L's diaper, and found them in the bathroom. L peed in the potty earlier in the day, and they saved the pee for me so I could see it! I told DH this wasn't necessary, but appreciated the thought.

I went down to grab a quick dinner and L used his potty again! So twice in one day... This is DH's little summer project (he's a teacher)... he wants to potty train Landon before he starts school again in September! Wish us luck!
Re: The meaning of "surprise" has changed.
Hah, that's a funny story.

That's great that he's going! DH wants me to PT J this summer before school starts back so he'll be out of diapers for awhile before #2 comes

Thanks everyone! The main thing now is recognizing when L is pushing hard for #2 (no amount of prune juice is making it easy for this little guy to get it out!) and getting him on the potty so he can associate the feeling with going on the potty. It will be much harder to get him to know the feeling of "Hmmm... I need to pee now," but if we can work on the poop all summer, the pee will eventually happen.
I love DH for taking on this project all summer.
Andplusalso, L is super excited because he loves anything that goes up and down (light switches, toilet flushers, etc,) and we don't let him flush the toilet unless he goes potty... so it's a special reward for him. He gets really excited, stands there jiggling the lever, turns to look at us, and smiles. Love.
