Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Only wants 1 bottle a day....

I know that all of the nutrition comes from formula in the first year. I am not sure if it is due to teething or what but for the past few days all she wants is her morning bottle (6 oz). Before this she was taking 3-6 oz bottles a day. 1 morning, 1 mid afternoon and 1 night time (all 6 oz's). I have even tried putting it in a sippy and she wants nothing to do with it. She is still drinking water out of her sippy, but doesn't want the formula. She does eat 3 meals a day and has been on table food since 7 months old. She eats anything and everything and has always been a good eater.

Should I be concerned? Do you have any suggestions?

Babies know what they need. I would roll with it. DD has had 1-2 bottles a day since we switched to formula at 9 months. My train of thought is that it will be easier to wean from the bottle completely.

Thats what I'm thinking too, I just don't want her to not have the nutrition she needs. I could probably take it away completely and she wouldn't even care. Same with her pacifier. I just stopped giving it to her and she ne'er noticed. I am due with another DD right before DD1 turns 1 so I guess she is just trying to make my life easier ;)

  • My LO has been doing this in that last few days. I think it's teething and being distracted by wanting to play. His top gums are all swollen and red and he can't seem to sit still lately so I think nursing is not his priority. Except in the morning when he can't eat soon enough! Congrats on #2!
