Multi belly shots....

Day 6 of stim is finally here and I am dreading to add Menopur & Ganirelix starting from tonight...

I have been switching sides every day, but should I just poke 3 shots in the same side/area? There isn't an order for which shots go first, is there?

I just need to get over with my fear, ugh!

Do the same side, but poke in separate spots. I should be starting my Ganerilex soon as well. I did Follistim & Menopur from the beginning though. No order to do them in.

I did them in seperate spots including under the belly button. If you get too sore I have seen ladies put them in their thigh.

I do mine in the same area. I always ice first because it lessens the burn of the Menopur, so it doesn't bother me to do both (Follistim and Menopur) next to each other. I bruise pretty easily, so I like to keep them together so that I have more area to choose for the next day. I also try to go in a clock pattern. It's my way of spreading out the injections so that an area has a longer wait before I have to inject again. I pick 12 o'clock, 3, 6, 9 and then move over to 1, 4, 7, 10, etc. 12 o'clock was the bottom of my belly button. FWIW, when I did Ganirelix last round I was told to take it in the morning, with the others being at night. This round I do Lupron every morning (have been for over 2 wks), but I keep those to the right side of my belly button because I get an itchy rash on the left side. It's weird.

Just think, only a few more days to go. Then we'll be worrying about the PIO shots in our a$$es, lol.

This is what I am worried about!! MH travels a lot, so I have no idea what I am going to do if he is away!

That's the progesterone shots, right? Does it go to our as$? Oh no! I got bunch of those but I haven't opened them yet, so I don't know what they look like. I thought it was a gel I would just push it in from my area...GAH!

My DH works out of town occasionally too, but I think I could call MIL or my friend that is a nurse if it came to the point where I couldn't do the shot. I'm pretty stubborn and try to be as independent as possible though, so I'd try doing it myself first. I figure as long as I ice the area enough, it won't hurt. It's just the logistics of turning and doing it that may be tough. Not sure how I can stay still enough to jab the needle, pull the plunger to check for blood, and then inject... all while leaning to one side and twisting. I may need to start yoga or become a contortionist.

I rotated sides by needle. In the beginning, it was one shot a day so that was easy. Then my stim meds went up to the point where it needed to be 2 needles. So I just did one on each side. When I added the Ganirelix in the morning, I just kept with my left/right pattern. So every day I had 2 on one side and 1 on the other and it flipped back and forth. I just stayed an inch or so away from the other daily shot. I Best of luck, you can do it! You will feel so impressed with yourself when this is all said and done!

A day or two we had three at night but most of the time we just had two. It sucks. Hang in there and you are almost there!!! I chose which goes first based on how much it hurt. We always saved lupron for last because it was the quickest and easiest. I chose to do the repronex first since it took a little longer and sometimes burned. DH does the shots and he would do the same side different area. We would do to the right of the belly button, under it and the left so we gave each side a bit of rest lol After you do it once you will be like oh that wasnt so bad. GL hun!

Not sure if you've seen comments about this, but the needles are really dull. Be sure to jab harder than usual.

I thought the same thing. But when I went to stick it in as usual, it just stopped. So then I had to push. It wasn't fun. Hopefully you won't have such a bad time with them.

OMG, this is very true. I did it last night and both Menopur & Ganirelix are harder to push in. I iced my belly for a long time (I used frozen peas LOL) and did both. I felt little but not too bad. I hated the feeling of pushing those needles in though. GL, Rachey!
