I told my SO yesterday that I was bored out of my mind on maternity leave and was running out of things to do around the house. So, he tells me he needs this pile of clothes needs to be ironed and I thought, "Thank GOD!!! I'll finally be able to do something and feel productive."
After about two shirts, I was thinking, "Why did I say I'd rather be doing this than watching the Law & Order:SVU marathon that is on? UGHHHHH."
Re: Be careful what you wish for...
I LOVE Law & Order SVU!! I would definiltey rather do that than iron. Can you move your ironing board to be in front of the tv?
I wish I could be on maternity leave already but then I figure I'd probably be bored and the weeks would go by a lot slower than they do with my 50 hour work week. I am just so exhausted all the time lately. This weekend I took 2 naps each day and slept 10+ hours at night.
That was totally my thought too. Best of both worlds. You get to feel productive & still watch TV. Special bonus points if your ironing board is adjustable & you can lower it down so you can iron while sitting!
I was thinking the exact same thing! I love Law & Order
I would LOVE to be able to do that, but unfortunately we had to be vintage and get a real metal ironing board and it's in the basement, lol. So, I'd have to carry it up the stairs to watch tv while I iron. We have a huge tv in the basement, but it isn't hooked up, of course!
I've been on maternity leave since 31 weeks because I was having a lot of BH contractions and it is really boring. I just have to keep reminding myself that not working is better for my little guy because I do notice such a difference in his movements now that I'm not working (he's moving more, less pain/cramping, etc.). I don't think the weeks are going by slower per say, but only because usually I don't know what day it is...lol.
SCANDAL!
