Just wondering if any has flown while pg, at how many weeks, and any concerns you have. My DH parents invite us to Florida every year in March and if we go the first week of March I'll be 30 weeks. My doctor said it was okay up until 34 weeks just take a baby asprin and get up and walk every half hour and do ankle pumps to keep good circulation. He said come see him 2 days before we would fly and he'll check my cervix and give us the okay if all looks good. I still have some reservation though to say yes, it makes me a little nervous still, any thoughts?
Re: Flying while pregnant
I flew throughout my pregnancy for work and it wasn't too bad for me until about the time you would be flying. ?After my last flight at 28 or 29 weeks, I had the worst swollen feet EVER and was just really grouchy with the other passengers :-) ?I even drank lots of water and got up - which really ticked me off at the time.
There are tons of people who don't have the swelling, mood, etc issues I had though and enjoy it more.?
I was safe and baby was good...just felt like crap. ? GL!
I went from Baltimore to Boston at 16 weeks, to Dallas at 18 weeks and I'm going to Denver in two weeks (25 weeks) and Detroit in 6 weeks (28 weeks).
My ob said that its fine to fly as long as I feel comfortable with it.
If your doc OK'd it, then I'm sure you'll be fine. My doctor said not to travel during 1st/3rd tri, but that 2nd tri was safe to fly. I would just follow his instructions. Pregnant ladies fly all the time---enjoy FL!
I have flown quite a bit traveling for work and I can tell you I dread it. If you are going to go try and get direct flights and hopefully they are short. I have had such issues with delays and it is totally uncomfortable already (only 18 weeks). I had really bad m/s too so this didn't help. pack snacks and buy water!
