What are some different options for stepkids to call their stepgrandparents? they're pretty close to my mom and dad and gives hugs and kisses but at 4 and 6 years old i don't feel like their first names are something they should call them. just recently married so they are learning that they have new "step" grandparents.

All the grandparents have unique names that all the kids call them whether they are step or not. My DD has 9 grandparents so unique names work really well for her. My ILs are Mawmaw and Pawpaw and my parents are Grammy and Poop (long story lol). My DD calls her dad's BM & SF, Nana and Grand-daddy, and her dad's BD Papa. She calls her SM's mom Grandma "firstname" and she doesn't see her SM's dad enough to call him anything other than "SM's dad."
SS1 and SS2 call my parents Grandma/Grandpa FN (to differeniate from other grandparents). DH's grandparents are really his step-grandparents. He has always called them "Grandma and Grandpa" as have I as long as I have known them. DH's stepmother wanted to be called Nana but the boys recently stopped because they said it was too confusing and she is now Grandma D.

I've had step grandparents since I was a baby. I've always called them Grandma or Grandpa to their faces. When referring to them to someone else, I've always said Grandma Lastname/Grandpa Lastname.
SD calls my parents Grandma/Grandpa even though BM told her that they're not really her family.
My SS calls my mom and stepdad Gigi and Papa First Name. My dad and stepmom are pawpaw and Nanny First Name. He calls my MIL gamma and BM's mom (now deceased) Gaga.
My stepdads parents are Granny and Pop which is what their biograndkids call them (I was 14 when they got married). My stepmoms parents I just call by their last names but I was almost engaged myself when they married.
What are their cultural background? My Mother is Italian, so we went with Nana for everyone around. But my polish grandmother is Bobcia.
(I know I haven't been on here in ages...)
My skids call my mom "Miss (and put in her first name)" . They had two grandmom's when we married and were probably 9 at the time. They don't see her that often, but they know who she is.
While I agree that "grandma/grandpa" type names shouldn't be forced on SK, I don't think the age of the sk should matter. My SSs are 18 and 16. Last year, they decided they wanted to call my parents Grandma and Grandpa. This was entirely their decision. My parents do not have any other grandchildren so it was a little surprising for them. All have fully embraced it.
