April 2012 Moms

2 month shots were this morning...

And lo has spent most of the day sleeping.

We went in at 9 and he was a pretty good sport except for the 2nd shot, which I guess stings. He actually loved the oral one.

He slept after we left, woke to eat, slept throughout our entire mommy and me class, cried when he woke to eat and is now snoozing away in his carseat. I don't want to move him because he seems so comfy.

I have tylenol waiting if he has a fever but for now I am enjoying the quiet.

  • We had our shots this morning too.  He only cried for a couple minutes, then passed out.  We got home, he ate, then slept for another hour and a half.  Since then he's been a supercrank and started to get a little warm, so I gave him some tylenol and he's now in his crib laughing at his projection machine.

My lo is 11 lbs which seems huge to me since he was born at 7.2 but he's still so low on the percentage charts.

  • DS had his shots this morning too. He screamed for about 2 minutes but calmed down in my arms. He slept for 45 minutes when we got home, woke up to eat, and went back to sleep for another 2+ hours. He feels warm to me, but doc said to try to avoid Tylenol if possible because he said it can depress the immune system response to the shots. (Has anyone heard of this?) I'll be keeping an eye on him...
  • My dr. said to only give it if his temp is over 100. I took it before and it was only 98.9. He's now sleeping in his crib unswaddled which he NEVER does but his hands and feet are not hot. Don't go by the way their head feels, go by their hands/feet and a thermometer.

Pour dr told us to avoid Tylenol too for this reason, but we can give him some if we feel it's necessary.

Well, DS has a 101.3 fever so I called the doc's office and got the OK to give Tylenol. Poor little peanut.
