2-Year Old Birthday Gift Ideas

Our DS is turning 2 in a few weeks and DH and I are struggling with what to get him. He loves the typical things: trucks, animals, art, playing outside. What did you/are you getting your LO for their 2nd birthday? Do they have a favorite toy right now? Our little guys loves his play kitchen and will "cook" whenever I'm cooking. Thoughts?

My 2 year old LOVES to color!! (and that might be an understatement) So I got him the boogie board.. He loves it so much! We take it with us to restaurants, doctor appointments, and long car rides. I think it might be the best thing I have ever got him, so far. lol

i am contemplating getting a train table and a simple starter train set. i am having baby #2 in dec. and thought if i set it up in his room, he could play independently while i am nursing #2. and he is definitely in the truck.train.car.lawnmower phase so it might be a perfect gift! just $$$$

We got my DS tons of cars and a play rug that looks like roads. I also got him new sheets and a comforter for his "big boy" bed (twin bed). I also bought coloring books, crayons, and play dough.

We got DS a balance bike and a few new things for his play kitchen. Other toys I considered were a FP tool set and a big dump truck. He doesn't really have a favorite toy right now but here are a few things he's been playing with a lot lately: Mega Bloks, Melissa & Doug fridge magnets, Buckle Bear, Piggy Bank, laptop, and FP Learning Zoo. If you don't have a shopping cart already that might be something else to consider since he likes his kitchen so much.

These are great ideas!! I especially love the balance bike and the Buckle Bear idea. He is obsessed with buckles and it would be a big hit.

We just got DS the Schwinn Roadster Tricycle. He immediately ran over to it and was excited, but he hasn't figured out how to pedal yet. Hopefully he'll get hte hang of it before he turns 3.
