? regarding back pain

My lower back has been really hurting me all day. Can this be round ligament pains? I had though they would be in front but I am wondering if that it what may be causing this.

I know you cannot "diagnose" me  - I was just wondering if any one is experiencing anything similar.  And how to handle it!

I have a heating pad on it and it feels a little better. Any suggestions?

Re: ? regarding back pain

  • I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I can tell you that yesterday and today, on the right side of my lower back I am in some serious pain - it's not constant but it's there. I would say the heating pad is the best thing!

  • back pain could be sciatica, or it could just be back pain
  • RLPs are more in the crease where your thigh and hip/abdomen meet. its what hurts when you sneeze. try a heating pad on your back.
  • I have back pain too but I think it's just from the stress of the added weight in my boobs and belly.
  • Where does it hurt?  Does it shoot down your legs or anything?  If it is, it's probably your sciatic nerve.  Good luck finding things to make you feel better!  I never can.
  • I've had mild to moderate back pain in both my mid and lower back since before I got my BFP (I've had back problems since HS though) and have found that warm showers really help to relieve the pain and tension. I'll be seeing a prenatal masseuse (sp?) through my clinic too, but I'm saving the free massages for later in pregnancy when I'll really need them.
  • oh man, my back has been hurting as well. ?I am chalking it up to the muscles not being as strong as they were pre-dd. ?I need to work on some strengthening and legthening exercises. ?
  • I have that too. Something to do with the weight of the belly pulling on the back. Your posture because of this causes pain as your back isn't alligned as usual.
  • I've had bad back pain since about 15 weeks. It's low down in my back, but not shooting down my legs. I'm carrying him very low and I'm assuming that the extra weight and pull of my belly is causing the pain. Like pps have said, round ligament pains are around your hip area on the front and are from ligaments around your uterus stretching. I'm pretty sure you can't have them in your back.

Extra strength Tylenol and a heating pad have helped me out tons on bad days!
