Sibling name for Ivy

We are currently TTC #2, and I am obsessed with names and rankings and all that, but I am having a hard time coming up with good names to go with DD's name Ivy Pearl. For a girl my MIL suggested Iris, which I love that name, but am not sure if that would be too matchy with Ivy? Our second choice girl name when I was pregnant was Juliet, again I love, but not sure about that as a sibset with Ivy? Boy names I am lost on, I liked Samuel (Sam) when I was pregnant before. I would like to use Dean as a middle name for a boy after my Dad. For a girl middle name I was thinking Ruby, but is that too much with DD being Pearl as a MN or is it cute?

I know it's still way early yet

Opinons and suggestions please.

What about Eden for a girl. When I was little I knew a sibset with Ivy and Eden and I always thought they sounded great together.

I also love Juliet Ruby. So pretty! While I normally don't like matchy sibling names (not digging Ivy and Iris), Pearl and Ruby totally work for the middle spot. Samuel Dean is a nice boy name, too.

I think Juliet Ruby sounds good. You're right, Iris is too matchy. Iris and Ivy are both on my list, as well as Carys, Blair, June, Greta, Maren.

I feel you on the "matchy-ness" of names-- I do think Iris and Ivy are too close.

However I don't mind theme middle names so much-- I think it would be weird if say you wanted give a future DD a first name like Fern or Holly.

Juliet Ruby is darling.

And I know this isn't the point of your post, but I know of a B/G sibset and their names are Ivy and Miles, which I always thought sounded brilliant together.

As much as I like Iris and Ivy, I don't like them as a sibset. How about Fern? I think Fern Juliet would be pretty.

Samuel Dean would be a fine boy name.

I like the idea of using Ruby for a middle name if your #2 is a girl

I like one of the PP's suggestion of Mia. I think Mia Ruby is nice, and it "goes" well with Ivy Pearl.

I think Iris is beautiful but I agree it's too close to Ivy. Juliet is also beautiful but I think it's a little long to go with Juliet (but it would be cute to call her Jules). I like Samuel (Sam) Dean.

I'm with your MIL. Iris was the name that came to me before I opened your post. I love the idea of Ivy and Iris. I like floral/nature names - my favorite is Briar. Not wild about Juliet, it's a fine name, just NMS.

I love Dean as a fn! Dean and Ivy would be adorable together. Iris is too matchy for my style I would like a name with it that isn't also a noun but short and a bit vintage like Ivy feels to me...

Mabel, Neve, Maeve, Lydia, Tess, Claire, Vera, Georgia

edit: Opps totally realize Georgia is a noun! lol

My DD's name is also Ivy!

Some girls names that I liked and Dh didn't have been Claire, Paige, Eleanor, Evelyn, Violet, Fiona, Hazel, Aurora. Boys names have been harder for me since I am not a big fan of boys names in general. Zachary, Elijah, Miles, Luke. Rhett.

I love the name Ivy. I think it's pretty with both Iris and Juliet. Ruby is a fantastic MN choice, and I think it's precious with your DD's daughter's MN! Samuel Dean is really nice too! Some names I think would pair great with it are:

Girls--Honora, Blythe, Delilah, Eleanor, Gwendolen, Greta, Hazel, Imogen, Maeve, Penelope, Phoebe, Tallulah, June, and Scarlett

Boys--August, Desmond, Henry, Julian, Lachlan, Luca, Miles, Nathan, and Nolan
