Preemies

Looks like we may be having preemie #2 soon

DD was born at 32 weeks in 2009 for unknown PTL reasons.

Now I'm just about 34 weeks with DS and the same issues have started.  Lower back pain, cramping.  Went into L&D, I'm already 1.5 dilated 75% effaced, erratic contractions.  They sent me home on modified bedrest after a 2 day stay with monitoring and of course getting the steroid shots. FFN test was positive.

I do admit that going through this before and knowing that DD has turned out so well has been reassuring and has eased my fears of the NICU, but I was still really looking forward to bringing home a full term baby!

Hoping I can make it at least one more week to 35 weeks!

  •  I hope and pray that you can hold off another week or two.

Did they put you on any meds? Procadia to stop PTL.

     Please keep us posted.

  • Thanks all.  I was on procardia for 2 days during my L&D stay, but they didnt want to keep me on it at home since my blood pressure was so low and I was very lightheaded. They said that since I'm almost 34 weeks, they wouldn't try to stop labor if it starts on its own again (more like continues).  I was surprised at this, I thought they tried to hold you off until you were at least 36 weeks!

Yes, I'm so thankful that I have made it this far already!

  • Hope LO stays in a week or two more!  FWIW, I had DD2 at 35w0d and she didn't need any NICU time!  GL, mama!  Take it as easy as possible!
