DD acting like she wants to nurse again after weaning

We're still at once a day, after dinner/before bed. But today and a little bit of yesterday, she's been acting like she wants to nurse other times during the day. She'll bury her face in my chest, pull at my shirt, and/or kind of bite at it. I'm not about to increase our nursing times but I'm not sure what to offer her instead. WCM? A snack? Just extra hugs? Has anyone else run into this? How'd you handle it?

Re: DD acting like she wants to nurse again after weaning

  • i just let her. I don't pump during the day anymore, so I know there isn't much supply there during the day. If she wants to latch and nurse for a minute out of comfort on a random saturday afternoon, i just let her do it. she figures out pretty quickly that there isn't enough milk and moves on or asks for something to eat.

  • Not sure, but it might have to do with being pregnant. My son who hasnt nursed since February has been obsessed with my boobs lately...Only thing I can figure is he can smell the smell and is actually interested again...

Hm, that makes me a little nervous. I don't want to tandem nurse!

  • We are working on weaning to morning, after school and before bed. I've found that a fun snack is the best distraction for LO (and me!).

If you dont want to tandem nurse than I would offer milk, water, or a snack. I think the longer you wait to wean the more difficult it will be to *deny* her nursing once LO arrives. I am hoping my son gives up his interest....
