Thank you ?

Some ladies from church are throwing a baby shower for me in mid-July. DH and I went out to dinner last night with one of the ladies and her husband. (They are close to my parents' ages.) They brought us a present for the baby. When we commented that they should be waiting for the shower, they both laughed. We were told, "My mom brought me something for my babies every time she saw me." (My mom lives 1700 miles away, so the people at church seem to be more than happy to spoil us.) Should I send them a Thank You card for this gift now or wait until after the shower?
