So, I'm two days away from when AF should arrive. I managed to fall down some stairs today, and I did a number on my ankle. My ankles were badly broken in the past, and are easily hurt. Swollen like a balloon, very painful, but I have some movement and can put a small amount of weight on it, but I need crutches. I made an appt. with my ortho for Tuesday morning, but now I'm freaking out about the x-rays. I dont really believe that I broke anything, but it's possible. I will decline xrays, but is there any reason to even go if I wont allow them? My parents were there when it happened, and want me to go because of my history, but they have no idea that I'm ttc. My mom will have to take me because I cant drive, and I dont want her to figure it out.
I plan on testing in the morning, but even on a negative I'm still going to worry that I tested too early.
Any thoughts?

I dislocated my jaw while pregnant and they had to do multiple x-rays (as opposed to a panoramic) but after talking to the radiologist, the techs were able to angle it differently and use a shield to minimize the risk to LO. If you have doubts, ask to speak with the radiologist to see how they can minimize the risk in case you might be pregnant. I'm assuming that since the rays would be directed at the ankle that it would be very low risk even in the 1st tri.
This happened to me last month, I was approx 7dpo so way too early to test. I told them I could be preg and they offered a test, but I knew it was too early so I didn't bother. They didn't think it would be that big a deal. He actually 'tripled up' on the lead vest thingys over my ute. I ended up with a broken foot. I go back right after AF this time for my second X-ray. I didn't end up being preg, but it didn't seem to be a huge concern of theirs. I think even if you do test positive they would still do the X-ray unless they looked at it and could tell it was just a sprain. You could always call your OB if you got a positive test to see what they recommend? Or call either way for peace of mind?
I think there is someone who works in an imaging place on here, maybe she will chime in!
Hope it isn't broken! I'm 4 weeks into my 6 in a walking cast, boo! Good luck!

I needed an x ray on my hand in the 2ww. Talked to my doctor and she said it's totally fine as long as they protect your abdomen/take the necessary precautions. Feel better and GL!
