Anyone familiar w/ +You social networking?

DD is going into 7th grade next year.  She has her own gmail, and she emails and chats with her friends on pretty much a daily basis.

Several of her friends are now using Google's social networking app: Google +You.  She gets invited to join their circles frequently.  I know nothing about how it is used, and whether it is similar -- in terms of privacy and social pitfalls for kiddos -- to FB.   

Anyone know anything about how +You works? 

High School English teacher and mom of 2 kids:

DD, born 9/06/00 -- 12th grade
DS, born 8/25/04 -- 7th grade

    Just like FB so if you are not ok with that you should not be ok with any social networking.
