Does your LO have random days of nap strikes?

Some days DS naps so well, I can tell he is getting sleepy somewhere around 1 and I put him in his crib and he will sleep anywhere from 2-3 hours. Then, there are days like today. He has only taken 2 10 min naps since he woke up this morning. He doesn't seem overly fussy so that is good; I just can't get much things done when he doesn't nap during the day. With or without a nap, he always seems to go to sleep at night within 45 mins timeframe.I'm trying to get him to nap again right now, and I just hear him talking to his mobile at the moment, let's hope this works.

  • Yes! This has been happening in the last few weeks. Weirdness.

  • My DD does this, too. I am also currently torturing myself by trying to introduce naps in her crib in her own room (She still is in our room at night in a co-sleeper).

Some days she will nap for a long while, some days I'm lucky if she gives me 30 mins all day. Doesn't seem to matter where we are and what we are doing.

  • Yes. Those are the days I do everything with one hand.

  • Yup.  Happened two days ago. But, he slept amazing the next day. Sometimes I think he is just too interested in what is going on around him.
  • He slept really good last night and I wonder it that is what is messing up his naps. He went to bed at 8:30, then work up a bit before 7, ate, then went to sleep 8- 10. He normally doesn't sleep that late, but I ended up sleeping too and got nothing done this morning cause I was sleepy from being up from 5:30-8:30 cause I ended up pumping because he slept for so long then I could fall back asleep, then he woke up. Also, he ended up crying, so I'm nureing him now. Hopefully that will make him sleepy.

  • I noticed that since my boys started sleeping better at night, their daytime naps have diminished.. I wouldn't trade the night sleep for the world, but momma needs a break during the day.

  • Today was one of those days.  It's frustrating because I feel like we're "regressing" with all the work it takes to get him to nap.  He used to never be able to nap or sleep anywhere but on us, and now he's actually sleeping in his swing for naps and at night...but today is one of those days where everything we've done so far seems to go out the window.  I'm not doing anything different either, so, I'm at a loss :/
  • Ahhhhh!!!! I got him to fall asleep and then 3 mins later, DING DONG!! Errrr no, I don't want to join you church!!! Yep he is wide awake.

UGH!!  I would have killed them.. how unChristian;)  Yes my DS2 has crappy nap days mixed in with good nap days.  I can't figure it out.. there's no rhyme or reason.  Today sucks.. he's catnapped all day when what he really needs is a good 2hr nap.  He's all bobby and jerky and red-eyed.  And won't be put down.  !!
