I definitely feel that way. I have been having these "pains" that feel like stomach cramps, but they are not painful...just uncomfortable. I wish I could have one and my doctor would say "that's it!" I'm sure we will all know soon!

If the contractions hurt and they don't go away, then its labor. The annoying thing for me was getting contractions that were uncomfortable but not painful and not regular off and on for 10 days before he was born.
Not really. I figure maybe the early contractions won't be "for sure" but once things really get going, I imagine it would be hard not to know - or at least that's what I've been told.
I can say that although I have a lot of experience "having" babies only 1 out of 4 was natural. The other 3 were induced. So it's safe for me to say I don't know when the real contractions hit because the one that was natural well - she was almost delivered in the car. I got to the hospital fully dilated and sprained both of my legs becuase I couldn't even get them on the stirrups. LOL! I'm scared to say the least! LOL!

You will know!
What gave it away for me was the consistency.
